Brittany is a part of France that is easy to reach.  Travellers from the British Isles can either drive/ferry to a choice of ferry ports or fly/drive. 

Nearest Airport to Erquy : Dinard Airport at St Malo. (40 mins. drive to Erquy)

Rennes Airport : 2 hours drive

Nearest Ferry Port  to Erquy : St Malo. (40 mins. drive to Erquy)

Caen Ferry Port : 3 hour drive - an easy drive through Normandy

Cherbourg Ferry Port : 3 hour drive - an easy drive, via the famous Mont St Michel.  Or take a longer route via the famous Normandy landings beaches on the east side of the Cherbourg peninsular.

 

BY FERRY :         

 

There are direct ferry services from the UK to Brittany, operated by Brittany Ferries but also by Condor Ferries.  There are also services to Normandy.  N.B. If you travel with Brittany Ferries let us know and we can offer you 10% discount on the fare.

St. Malo is just 40 minutes drive from Erquy

Caen a 3 hour drive 

Cherbourg a 3 hour drive

For travellers coming from London or the south east of England it may be quicker, though a longer drive, to take one of the short crossings from Dover, such as P & O Ferries or SeaFrance and drive the rest of the way.

 

Brittany Ferries Service :

Portsmouth - St Malo :  A day or overnight  cruise ferry service

Portsmouth - Caen :   Day and overnight cruise ferry service and a high speed ferry service at the weekend.

Portsmouth -  Cherbourg :   Cross channel high speed ferry service.  Cherbourg is ideally placed to visit the Second World War Normandy Landings Beaches

Poole - Cherbourg :  The shortest crossing to Brittany. 

Plymouth - Roscoff :  Cruise ferry service direct to Brittany.

N.B. There are great restaurants (a la carte and sefl service) on board all these ferries.

BY AIR :

 

Brittany is relatively well served with airports; the main airports being Rennes and Nantes.  The smaller airport of Dinard is (at St Malo) is the closest to Erquy.

Ryan Air and Aurigney Airline fly direct to Dinard from Bimingham East Midlands, Stanstead and Guernsey.
